QI Episode Analysis

Audience Pleasures:

• We are informed as we find out that it is extremely difficult to be able to escape while being knotted together with a partner.
• The audience finds out this information in a undoubtedly whimsical way. This is portrayed  through the fact that celebrities are making a fool out of themselves on TV while trying agonizingly hard to crack this simple yet challenging task.
•  The audience finds out that the opposites of personalities can both work together to try and take on the challenged laid in front of them.

Editing Our Short Movie

The making of our film Directed by Alfie Wolstenholme


In today's lesson we edited the short movie which we created in the last lesson. This was something new to me as I have never edited a movie before. We started by splitting up so in our group we had 2 edits so we could choose which one use. We started by opening iMovie on the dashboard. We then imported the clips from the Canon onto our new project. We then cut out the bits of clips which we did not need and then put on some music and background sounds.

Austin Powers

Today we watched the Austin Powers, played as Tom Cruise, advertisement. HERE. One convention used was jeopardy. This is shown as Austin Powers is shown jumping in the air shooting at the helicopter, not knowing whether he's gonna land safely or not. Once he does land we do not know what he is going to do next. Adding to that the viewers are curious on why Austin Powers was shooting at the helicopter. As well as that the audience do not know who the person on the motorbike. The camera starts out at the feet of the woman and slowly up to her face (so we can focus on her body) which is used to tell us that she is there because of her good looks and not because of her highly intellectual spy knowledge. Her first words label her as a 'very sexy mum of one', which surprised me because I wouldn't expect a mum to come out and say she's sexy to a stranger.
